Dating back to 1096 it is the oldest pub in the New Forest with a list of landlords dating dack to 1498. The traditional thatched inn has a welcoming open fire and two wood burning stoves. Food is at Rosette Standard. Outside is a large landscaped garden with an old "well" which dates back to around the time the pub was built.

Listed 17th century pub with good beers, food is pretty average. Inglenooks fireplace with cosy fires in winter. Live music weekly. Apparently it has its own ghost.
