Lepe is a coastal Country Park in the New Forest National Park. There are stunning views across the Solent to the Isle of Wight & over a mile of beach, pine fringed cliffs, historic D-Day remains and wild flower meadows, Lepe is a great day out, whether you want to relax and take in the view or do something a bit more energetic. The park is popular for walking, swimming, fishing, windsurfing and bird or boat watching. There is a Childrens play area, picnic areas, barbecues for hire, toilets, ample parking and a café.

Family run farm, with lots of friendly farm animals. Daily schedule of hands-on activities to touch & bottle-feed kid goats and calves, duck feeding, meet the pigs & alpacas. Farmyard buildings to explore and loads of play areas to run around in. Also has a farm shop.

Hythe Ferry: There has been a ferry service from Hythe to Southampton since before 1575. Hythe Pier was built in 1879/80. The electric train is the world's oldest Pier train & was introduced onto the pier in 1922 and had been previously used in the Avonmouth Mustard Gas Factory. Today the ferry operates a half hourly ferry service between Hythe & Southampton Town Quay, if lucky you may see a visiting ocean liner.

Hythe Village: The historic character of the old town architecture, spanning every century back to the 1600’s, plus the active waterfront makes an interesting visit. If you visit on a Tuesday you will find a variety of things available in the weekly Hythe market.

One of the only tides mills in thw world producing flour daily in a 900 year tradition. Eling Tide Mill is a water mill that harnesses the power of the tide to grind wheat into wholemeal flour. It was abandoned in the 1940s, but survived until it was restored between 1975 and 1980, at which time it re-opened as both a working mill, and a museum to this part of our industrial heritage. Also you can visit the Heritage Centre & tea rooms.

Calshot has one of the largest Outdoor Adventure Centres in Britain and is run by Hampshire CC. Calshot Activity Centre offers residential and non-residential courses in an unrivalled number of exciting water and land based activities. Situated in a unique position on the shores of the Solent, its magnificent setting gives immediate access to the country’s most popular sea kayaking, canoeing & Watersports location. Ashore, historic Hangars accommodate a state of the art rock climbing complex, the only indoor track cycling Velodrome in Southern England and a dry Ski Slope.

Historic artillery fort, built by Henry VIII in 1539, as part the chain of defences along the English south coast. Calshot Naval Air Station opened in 1913, the year when First Lord of the Admiralty, Winston Churchill took his first seaplane flight from Calshot. During the First World War, Calshot was a training base for pilots. Calshot played an important role in the Second World War and became home to the Sunderland Flying Boat. After a long, chequered military history, RAF Calshot closed in 1961.Now owned by English Heritage.

The Calshot lifeboat station is normally open to visitors in the summer months to see the lifeboat and learn about the crew. The RNLI’s last ever Brede class lifeboat left service at Calshot in 2002 and the station now operates both an inshore and an all weather lifeboat, covering the middle section of the Solent.

Broadlands stands in spacious parkland in a landscape which is typically English. The River Test, one of the finest trout and salmon rivers in Europe, flows for over four miles through the Estate. The gardens were landscaped by Capability Brown. The stable building, which now houses the Mountbatten Exhibition, is little changed from the time of William and Mary at the end of the 17th century when the old manor house of the St Barbe family stood on the site of the present Georgian house.

A National Trust historic house set in atmospheric gardens and grounds in the River Test Valley. The house is built on the 12th-century remains of a former Augustinian priory & is set in glorious landscaped grounds with a walled gardens, tranquil park, woodland and riverside walk. It is also home to the National Collection of old-fashioned roses, an unusual drawing room decorated by Rex Whistler And an interesting art collection donated by painter Derek Hill.
