Lymington, New Milton, Christchurch & The New Forest areas have a number of interesting clubs (& some strange ones!) which may appeal to people in Milford on Sea, so we have listed them here for you!
Lymington University of the Third Age: Lymington U3A was founded in 2001. Their aim is to encourage and enable older people in the Milford on Sea/Lymington area who are no longer in full-time paid employment to help each other to learn throughout life by providing facilities for leisure time and recreational activities. Activites include languages, art appreciation, wine tasting, current affairs discussions, creative writing, photography, painting, walks, guest speakers, dancing, bridge, scrabble, table tennis, yoga to name but a few.
Lymington Choral Society: Lymington Community Centre, New Street, Lymington, SO41 9BQ | Tel: 01590 672337 | or 01425 614023 | Lymington Choral Society exists to allow singers in the New Forest area and beyond to enjoy making music together. The essential qualifications for membership are enthusiasm and commitment, and although no entry auditions are held the Society is proud of the high standard it has achieved. Rehearsals are in Lymington Community Centre from 7.30 to 9.30pm every Wednesday evening during term-time from September until May. New singers & associate members welcome.
The Lymington and District Naturalists' Society: Lymington Community Centre, New Street, Lymington, SO41 9BQ | Tel: 01590 672337 | Meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month and commence at 7.15pm. Founded in 1946 when a group of people from the Lymington area put forward a plan to establish a bird sanctuary on the marshes between the Old Rifle Butts on the sea wall and Hurst shingle bank. The aim of the society is to promote the knowledge and understanding of natural history and allied matters by arranging lectures and field meetings.

Meets September to the following April, two Thursdays per month to hold print competitions and meetings with professionals to learn technical and artistic techniques. Outside photo shoots organised in the summer months. New members welcome.

The Chess Club meets every Monday evening that the Centre opens, 7pm until 10pm usually in the Common Room. Away matches are occasionally played on other days of the week. Three teams play in the Bournemouth Chess League, tuition is also available. Players of all standards including beginners are welcome.

The Lymington & District Town Twinning Association was originally formed in 1982/3 to further social, cultural, and business exchanges and foster friendship between our communities. The association stays with host families who are usually members of their respective Twinning organisation.

Meetings Mondays 6pm. New Milton Rotary Club was founded in 1939, & follows the Rotary club’s original idea of friends meeting together weekly to exchange ideas, to find out about ‘the other person’s perspective’ and whilst doing so enjoy good company and friendship. The Rotary Club of New Milton is a dual gender club with 35 members. New members & visitors are always welcome.

The Royal British Legion safeguards the welfare, interests and memory of those who are serving or who have served in the Armed Forces. They are one of the UK’s largest membership organisations and recognised as custodians of Remembrance. They also run the annual Poppy Appeal.

Originally founded in 1876. In 1986 they became founder members of the Wessex League. In 1998 they merged with local rivals Wellworthy Athletic to become AFC Lymington. The new club won the Wessex League title before joining forces with local rivals New Milton in 1998 to become known as Lymington & New Milton. However, many people were opposed to the merger so they reformed Lymington Town. In 2007 they won the Wessex League Cup after beating Bournemouth on penalties. The club is known as the 'The Linnets'.

This long established club has a history of providing enjoyable and sociable mini, junior & senior rugby. Founded in 1927, it is one of Hampshires longest established Rugby clubs and the 2002-2003 season was the club's 75th anniversary.

Cricket was first played in Lymington in 1807 with three matches against Southampton. Until 1836 the club played its matches on Pennington Common before moving to the Sports Ground where it has remained ever since. The club operates from two grounds, the Sports Ground used by First and Second Teams at weekends and for friendlies midweek and Woodside Park used mainly by the Third and Fourth Teams.

Lymington Swimming Club is a well established family club, teaching children water skills which enables them to enjoy a water environment.

Founded in 1936. The club is affiliated to the N.F.S.A. Wessex Division & the club's headquarters provide a good social meeting place. The aims of Lymington & District Sea Fishing Club are to promote shore fishing and boat fishing for all anglers, in a safe and friendly environment, encouraging conservation of fish stocks, and to attract juniors to the sport.
Meetings held on the first Tuesday of the month at 8pm in the Royal British Legion, High Street, Lymington. Established in the 1930’s, Lymington Motor Cycle & Light Car Club welcomes male & female members of all ages, catering for modern & classic motorbikes, trikes & light cars. This fun & friendly club of bikers, Club run's are held every Sunday and during the Summer months there are additional runs on Wednesday evenings and Bank Holidays.

Meetings held at Lymington Community Centre. The history of the Growmore Club lies in WW2 when national farmers were encouraged to grow more food for the war effort. Lymington has one of the few surviving Growmore Clubs today. Membership is open to farmers, horticulturists and anyone interested in the land. Today the club is an active social gathering, which also provides agricultural & horticultural based lectures, meetings and farm connected visits. Anyone welcome, you don’t have to be a farmer!

The Society was formed in 1976 by a group of people interested in collecting buttons and researching their history. There is a wealth of history around buttons and their manufacture - members' interests include: military, railway, hunt, livery and dress buttons.
